The Cateran Trail is a 64-mile route that takes you through the scenic landscapes of Perthshire and the Angus glens, and can be accessed close to the Auchavan Estate. This fully waymarked trail offers an unforgettable experience for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. The trail is named after the notorious Caterans, who were a group of raiders that once roamed the area.

The Cateran Trail is a circular route that starts and ends in Blairgowrie – but you can access and walk any part from anywhere on the route – and takes you through some of the most stunning scenery in Scotland. Along the way, you’ll pass through forests, over hills, and alongside rivers, with breathtaking views at every turn. The trail is suitable for hikers of all levels, with a mix of easy and challenging sections. The route is divided into five stages, each of which takes between 6 and 10 hours to complete, depending on your fitness level and pace.
