Loch of Kinnordy is a beautiful nature reserve located near the town of Kirriemuir in Angus, Scotland. Situated in the Strathmore Valley, it is easily accessible from various parts of the country. From the south, you can take the A90, exit at the Forfar turnoff, and then take the A926 towards Kirriemuir. If you’re approaching from the north, you can follow the A9 and turn onto the A926 as well.

This nature reserve occupies an area of roughly 130 hectares, which includes the shallow loch, wetlands, and surrounding woodlands. The loch was designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) in 1988, thanks to its diverse habitats supporting a wide range of birdlife and other species.

The reserve is primarily managed by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB), who maintain a visitor centre near the loch’s western edge. Parking is available at the visitor centre, where you can also find information about the reserve, its walking trails, and the variety of wildlife you may encounter during your visit.
